AN EXHIBITION ABOUT ART ON SKATEBOARDS
We are pleased to invite you to our exhibition „SKATEBOARTS ll“ at Forum Kunst in Rottweil. The first exhibition „SKATEBOARTS“ in 2016 was a great success and had a line-up of fantastic artists.
Again in 2024 Forum Kunst Rottweil will be the host of the exhibition together with the art foundation Erich Hauser. The Forum Kunst is an institution which can look back on a 54 year old history full of international resonance in the art world. Renowned artists such as Lynda Benglis, Jonathan Borofsky, Allan Hacklin, Howard Kanowitz, On Kawara, Martin Kippenberger, Günther Uecker, Erwin Wurm, Timm Ulrichs, Dieter Krieg, Magdalena Jetelová, Richard Jackson and many others had exhibited here.
As you could influence the art within the skateboard community making perhaps one more valuable contribution to our exhibition „SKATEBOARTS ll“ with your remarkable work, we would now like to invite you.
“SKATEBOARTS II” is an art project which should bring international urban-art-artists together. The art association Forum Kunst Rottweil invites circa 100 artists to artistically design skateboards.
Therefore, we will send out blank skateboards. The exhibition has set itself the task to illustrate the skateboarding subculture and its coherence with contemporary art.
Hip-Hop, Punkrock and Do-it-Yourself cultures are bundled in the skateboard scene. For active skateboarders, all their doings are rather a sort of philosophy, although it is an Olympic sports discipline.
This art project targets primarily young people which are normally rather distancing themselves if they are confronted with a classical art association. In parallel with the Forum Kunst Rottweil exhibition, which will show all designed skateboards, there will take place a skateboarding opening event in central downtown Rottweil.
The artistically designed skateboards are for sale. The profits are divided 50:50 between artist and art association. The art association partly uses the money for financing the exhibition.
Opening of the exhibition will take place on July 13, 2024 and will last until September first, 2024. A corresponding publication will be realized, containing a presentation of all exhibits.
